T Is For Travel


Travel is one of the greatest Mindfulness experiences you can have – when you venture into new places and experiences it can become easier to turn your attention to what is going on in the here and now, and appreciate what is going on in the moment.

Twice a year I run a mountain trek retreat¬†in The Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Sometimes people ask me how I can describe a mountain trek as a retreat – to some it doesn’t sound very relaxing or pampering. But the simple thing about walking in the mountains that makes it so special to me is that it becomes the ultimate mindful experience.

In the mountains you stop thinking about things that have already happened, and worrying about what might be to come… you have nothing more to worry about other than where you will put your next foot – you are totally in the moment.

Travel is a great way to experience Mindfulness – but don’t forget to put your phone away and enjoy the moment.
