U is for Underwhelm

U Is For Underwhem

Today I am very tired – I was birthing partner for my sister yesterday. It was the most incredible amazing experience, but with baby arriving at 4.30 in the morning, I’m absolutely exhausted.

Today will be a day of underwhelm for me.

Although I would never seek to be underwhelming, sometime it’s good to turn your focus away from everything that’s going on around you, and just turn your attention to being kind to you. A pyjama day, or duvet day, with a big pot of tea is sometimes all that’s needed to enable you to turn off from the overwhelm of everyday life, and gain some clarity and focus.

When these days remain a once in a while occasion they can nourish and replenish, and leave you raring to go.

We live in a world that is so focused on positivity, making the most of every opportunity and maximising our potential that we can forget that sometimes just “being” is good for us. Unfortunately when we do sit and “veg” we feel guilty that we should be doing something else more productive which reduces the benefits of recharging the batteries. We need our quite times (both external and internal) to work out what we should be focusing on next. Loving your A-Z and can’t wait to see how creative you are going to be about the challenges of X and Z!
